Become the Observer

Uncategorized May 16, 2024

Hey my friend!

Have you ever had a day where you were just in a horrible mood and really had no idea why?

This happened to me last weekend and it took a little work to get it figured out, but I did it and I’d like to share with you how you can do it too!

Did you know that the average human being has over 60,000 NEGATIVE THOUGHTS PER DAY???

IT’S NO WONDER WE STRUGGLE RIGHT?

Our thoughts create our emotions.  Most of us believe that it’s our circumstances (the facts of our life like our address, the size of our home, the weather, the amount of money we have, the number on the scale…) that cause us to feel the way that we do, but it’s just not the case.

The way we THINK about our circumstances is the cause of everything we feel.

Why is this so important to understand?  It’s because EVERYTHING we DO is driven by our emotions.  It is what causes us to behave, to take action (or not take action), to respond and to create.  And those actions are what create the results we experience in our lives.

Knowing this one thing is a total game changer!

As humans, we are the ONLY beings that can observe our own thinking.  YOU ARE NOT YOUR BRAIN.. Your brain is like the computer that runs the systems, but YOU are the being that can observe and manage the brain, if you can become the observer and creator of your thoughts.

Our minds are our number ONE asset, yet most of us spend more time and money on our lawn care than we do our mental health.  So crazy right?

Knowing this, I really want to help you become the observer of your own minds.  Here are some helpful tips:

  1. Start to notice your thoughts.
  2. Write them down and separate the thoughts from the facts.
  3. Begin to question the thoughts.  Ask yourself these three things: Is this true? Why am I choosing to think this? What am I making this mean?

Our brains present our thoughts to us as if they are all facts, but when we become the observer and examine them more closely, we discover that not all are true.

Doing this one thing alone can create a great shift for you.

Once we are aware of our thinking, we can make better choices about the thoughts we choose to keep. I hope this is helpful for you!

THIS IS WORK, but I can help you figure it out.

Let’s chat if this makes sense and you’d like to learn the tools to implement this in your own life!
